Welcome to the KCFE Erasmus+ Programme

Overview

Kerry College of Further Education is delighted to announce its participation in the Erasmus+ programme. The Erasmus+ programme is a European Commission initiative that enables students to complete their work placement abroad, in conjunction with one of our partner universities in Europe. This activity is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus + (KA1) program through the Irish national agency Léargas.

The Erasmus programme is hugely popular because of the academic, social, personal and professional benefits it brings. In addition to providing our students with an opportunity to work in an international environment in a company/organisation compatible with their course of study, it is a significant enhancement to any student’s CV and furthermore allows students improve their communication, language and intercultural skills.

Erasmus and Employment

The Erasmus Experience will give you many new transferable skills for future employment and for future studies…

  • You will gain different insights and outlooks on life – employers value awareness
  • You will learn new independence – employers value independent thinking
  • Living in another European country will give you life skills which cannot be taught and which may take others much longer to acquire - employers value maturity
  • Working in another European country encourages a flexible approach to learning and working - employers value adaptability
